Computer Literacy Program Orientation for Student Volunteers
On February 11, 2026, the Norzagaray College Community Extension Services, in partnership with the College of Computing Studies, successfully conducted the Orientation for student volunteers for the Computer Literacy Program for PASKA. This program serve as an inclusive education for NCians that commit a sense of volunteerism, align with the SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The orientation equipped student volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively support the implementation of the Computer Literacy Program for PASKA. Key topics discussed included the program’s objectives, schedule, and expected outputs, as well as the implementation of the 1 Tutor : 1 Catechist mentoring system, which ensures personalized and guided learning for each participant.
In preparation for their roles as facilitators, volunteers were introduced to appropriate teaching strategies for MS Word and PowerPoint, enabling them to deliver structured and learner-centered instruction. Emphasis was also placed on volunteer roles, professionalism, and the importance of community engagement, fostering a strong sense of responsibility and commitment among participants.
