Livelihood and Skills Enhancement Program on Hydroponics and Urban Gardening: Cultivating Sustainable Communities Through Partnership

The Norzagaray College Community Extension Services (CES), in collaboration with the College of Hospitality Management and in partnership with Barangay Partida, successfully conducted the Livelihood and Skills Enhancement Program featuring Hydroponics and Urban Gardening on February 21, 2026, at the Covered Court of Barangay Partida, Norzagaray, Bulacan. It Conducted in preparation for the planting activities under the DILG HAPAG Program (Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay), the activity aimed to equip community members with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in sustainable, space-efficient food production systems. The program emphasized the importance of empowering households with accessible agricultural practices that contribute to both food security and environmental sustainability.


Participants actively engaged in various learning sessions, including the introduction to hydroponic systems, demonstration of proper planting techniques, and the application of sustainable and cost-effective gardening methods.


Through this initiative, participants gained valuable competencies that can be applied within their households and community spaces, promoting self-sufficiency and resilience, particularly aligned with the SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
