EdukalEdad Program Batch 2 (Session 8): Livelihood and Entrepreneurship
By the advancing it's mission to empower communities through practical and inclusive education, the Norzagaray College Community Extension Services (CES) successfully conducted its eighth session on February 26, 2026, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Livelihood Development. This initiative reinforces the importance of equipping senior learners with income-generating skills, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
It was facilitated by Teacher Volunteers Dean Maria Vanessa S. Mendoza and Ms. Cristine B. Cristobal, the session provided a supportive and engaging environment that fostered collaboration and empowerment among learners. Also, the session was further enriched by the presence of Hon. Edsel Mendoza, BOT Member and Chairman of the Committee on Education, who delivered an inspiring message of support and encouragement for senior citizens to continue learning and pursuing productive endeavors.
The session featured a hands-on soap-making activity, where participants were guided through the process of producing simple yet marketable products. Alongside this, learners were introduced to fundamental entrepreneurial concepts, including basic costing and pricing computation, product packaging and presentation, as well as understanding profit, expenses, and small-scale budgeting. These activities provided a holistic approach to livelihood education, combining technical skills with financial literacy.
