College of Education conducts Monitoring of Field Study and Practicum Students in DepEd Partner Schools
In April 2025, Norzagaray College, through its College of Education, conducted a series of monitoring visits to DepEd partner elementary and secondary schools to assess the deployment and performance of Field Study (FS) and Practicum students. The activity aimed to ensure the effective implementation of field-based learning experiences and to provide continuous academic and professional support to pre-service teachers.
Practicum supervisor and coordinators visited cooperating schools to observe classroom engagements, review student performance, and confer with cooperating teachers and school principals. The monitoring activities focused on the alignment of teaching practices with the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs), and institutional requirements for field-based courses.
The initiative underscored the College of Education’s commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of its teacher education programs. Through regular monitoring, the College ensured that FS and Practicum students received appropriate guidance, mentoring, and feedback necessary for their professional growth and readiness for the teaching profession.
The monitoring activity also supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening teacher preparation and improving learning outcomes; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, by ensuring adherence to school health and safety protocols; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through sustained collaboration between Norzagaray College and its DepEd partner schools.
Through this initiative, Norzagaray College continues to uphold its mission of producing competent, ethical, and classroom-ready educators while reinforcing strong partnerships with the basic education sector.
