The first day of the Capacity Building for Tutors for the Teach to Reach Literacy Project—an NSTP-led tutoring program supporting struggling learners in English and Mathematics from selected Grades 1–3 pupils of Partida Elementary School—was successfully conducted today, 5 February 2026, at Partida Elementary School. The training will continue tomorrow, 6 February 2026, to further equip student-tutors with essential knowledge and skills for program implementation.

The training was facilitated by Partida Elementary School, led by Mr. Sherwin Santos, and included dedicated Grade 1–3 teachers who shared effective strategies for early literacy and numeracy development. The activity was also graced by Hon. Santiago Malubay, Jr., Barangay Captain of Barangay Partida, and Dr. Maricar Joy C. Buluran, Dean of the College of Education, strengthening collaboration among community and education partners.

The training aimed to equip student-tutors before project implementation by providing essential teaching strategies and learner-centered approaches to effectively support struggling learners in English and Mathematics.

This initiative reflects the institution's commitment to community engagement and quality teacher education, while strengthening partnerships that promote inclusive and accessible learning opportunities.
