Students from the College of Computing Studies (CCS) of Norzagaray College actively took part in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on March 12, 2026, as part of the institutionโs continued commitment to promoting disaster preparedness and safety awareness.
The drill, conducted in line with the nationwide initiative, engaged students and faculty members in performing the โDuck, Cover, and Holdโ procedure within their respective classrooms. A bell signaled the start of the activity, prompting participants to immediately execute the proper safety response during an earthquake.
Despite coinciding with the ongoing midterm examinations, the activity was successfully carried out through an adjusted setup that did not require evacuation. This ensured minimal disruption while still emphasizing the importance of readiness in emergency situations.
Students from the College of Computing Studies demonstrated discipline and cooperation throughout the drill, actively following safety protocols and providing proper documentation of their participation.
The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is a regular initiative designed to strengthen disaster awareness and encourage individuals to respond calmly and effectively during seismic events. Through activities like this, the Norzagaray College community continues to foster a culture of preparedness, awareness, and resilience.
