Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in Science

The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major in Science is a four-year undergraduate degree program designed to prepare future educators to teach science in the secondary education level. The program provides a strong foundation in professional education complemented by comprehensive preparation in the biological, physical, earth, and environmental sciences. It develops scientifically literate, competent, and innovative educators who possess a deep understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry-based teaching strategies, laboratory skills, educational technology, assessment, and research.

The program emphasizes the integration of theory and practice through learner-centered instruction, scientific investigation, and experiential learning in diverse educational settings. Students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, values, and professional competencies necessary to design engaging science learning experiences, promote critical and analytical thinking, foster environmental stewardship, and cultivate scientific curiosity among learners. Through Field Study courses and Teaching Internship, graduates gain authentic classroom experiences that prepare them to become effective, ethical, and reflective science educators capable of meeting the demands of the K–12 curriculum and contributing to the advancement of science education in the Philippines.
