Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd)

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd) is a four-year undergraduate degree program that prepares future educators and development professionals to work with children from birth to eight years of age. The program provides comprehensive preparation in child growth and development, early childhood pedagogy, curriculum development, family and community engagement, assessment of young learners, and the creation of developmentally appropriate learning environments. It emphasizes holistic child development, play-based learning, inclusive education, and responsive teaching practices that support the physical, cognitive, language, social-emotional, and moral development of young children. Through Field Study courses and Teaching Internship, students acquire practical experiences that prepare them to become competent early childhood educators capable of fostering nurturing, safe, and stimulating learning environments in diverse educational settings.
