Vision
The Norzagaray College Guidance and Counseling Center aspires to be a Center of Wellness committed to develop and nurture each student in their total development towards self-understanding and self-direction.
Mission
The Norzagaray College Guidance and Counseling Center is dedicated to:
1. Achieve personal development and effectiveness through self-knowledge.
2. Assist students in academic, career challenges, and facing life adjustments.
3. Build a collaborative relationship with various stakeholders to help ensure academic, career, employment, personal and social development of all students.
Objectives
1. Provide services to the community that promote psychological well-being of its members and mental health awareness.
2. Assist students in resolving their problems in academics, career choice, personal and social adjustments to be able to recognize his or her own self-worth.
3. Promote partnership with parents/guardians, school personnel, and community members, as a student advocate, to support student success.
4. Establish strong linkages with public and private institutions and professional organizations for on-the-job training and possible employment opportunities of students.
Services
ORIENTATION SERVICES
Provides students with essential information about the institution, policies, programs, available resources, and guidance services to help them adjust and become familiar with the college environment.
COUNSELING SERVICES
Provides confidential individual and group counseling to help students address personal, emotional, social, academic, and career-related concerns and develop effective coping and decision-making skills.
INFORMATION SERVICES
Provides relevant and timely information through orientations, bulletin boards, social media, digital platforms, and other materials to support students’ personal, academic, and career development.
INDIVIDUAL INVENTORY SERVICES
Assists students in understanding themselves through the systematic collection and organization of relevant information about their interests, abilities, personality, experiences, and other developmental concerns.
REFERRAL SERVICES
Connects students who require specialized assistance with appropriate offices, professionals, agencies, or other support providers for further assessment and intervention.
JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES
Assists graduating students and alumni in exploring employment opportunities through career information, job referrals, employer linkages, and other activities that support their transition from college to the workplace.
TESTING SERVICES
Administers and facilitates appropriate psychological, aptitude, interest, personality, and other assessment tools to support students’ self-understanding, educational planning, and career development.
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION SERVICES
Conducts and supports research and evaluation activities to identify students’ needs, assess the effectiveness of guidance programs, and provide data for the continuous improvement of services.
FACULTY AND STAFF WELFARE
Promotes the well-being and professional development of faculty and staff through supportive activities, consultation, wellness initiatives, and programs that contribute to a positive and healthy work environment.
